Re: error messages
I actually do, theoretically
You can click "hide" on the error message which hides the error message dialog and then you should see only a yellow backgrounded exclamation mark at the top of the gadget, which shows you that there is a problem. BTW, this exclamation mark disappears automatically when an automatic refresh succeeds. And the error message should not displayed again only if the error is different from the last one, which you made hidden.
Is this not this discrete enough? Or something just went wrong and you experience something different?

Re: error messages
I get an error every time I have a hiccup with my internet connection, which happens quite frequently with Comcast.
I would prefer to just rely on the error icon to show me when there's an error, instead of the app-filling error box that we get now. And/or it could just ignore errors that result from being unable to access the internet.
Great app otherwise.
