I suggested caching the data so it persists back a while, and it was implemented into 1.1.7. I used it, I loved it. I finally upgraded last night to 1.1.9, got all the info cached, and came to work to find it no longer works.

Looking through the change logs, you removed the functionality in 1.1.8 to prevent syntax errors.

Wouldn't it be effective to instead when first running, have the program check the file, if it encounters a syntax error, wipe the file, and redownload when available? This avoids the syntax problem and allows caching to work between versions (Making data not cached until such time as the user is on a direct connection to the net again).

Well, this is supposed to be working exactly as you wrote. I think something has just went wrong, I will check.

Well, I'll double check again tomorrow when I head into work. I've loaded up a fresh set of data tonight (And it's working in the gadget) so when I plug in at work tomorrow I'll make sure it is or isn't working.

When I posted before it was just showing "No events in next 21 days" which is quite wrong. With no configuration it has picked everything up when I'm at home (Direct connection to net) so it was configured fine. At work it would have to connect through a proxy and it can't do that as yet. Will post back with results once I have them.

Confirmed that it doesn't work when the connection cannot be reached. As said, I viewed everything last night, and now I'm at work I've got nothing. Simply shows "No events in 21 days", clicking the (!) icon simply gives "Error" at the top and "Retry Hide" down the bottom.

Nah, an other bugfix just blocked the display of the persistence stored events. This will be fixed in next version.
