Checking gmail error Empty Checking gmail error

Odd behavior in the Google Calendar Agenda gadget. When it checks my gmail account, the agenda display is greyed out and the large gmail icon is superimposed. This, I think, is WAD. However, there's also supposed to be a number, indicating the number of unread gmail messages. This is displayed on the gadget as "..", regardless of the actual number of new messages (0 or more).

You should see ".." instead of a number when you have more than 9 unread emails (practically, 10 uses too much space Smile

If this is not the case, please turn on trace mode as it is described in https://ilab.forumotion.net/faq-f8/can-t-find-the-solution-t161.htm, wait until that ".." comes and check the end of the log. You should see somehing like:

Code:
2009-12-16T21:59:20: [X1]
2009-12-16T21:59:20: [X2] URL: [Some URL, ie.: https://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom/]
2009-12-16T21:59:21: [X2] ORC: 3 / 200
2009-12-16T21:59:21: [X2] ORC: 4 / 200
2009-12-16T21:59:21: [X2] ST: OK
2009-12-16T21:59:21: [X3] Email count: 1

Then please log in to GMail in an Internet Explorer (not with other browsers) with the same account that you use for the gadget, and then go to the url, which you see in the log. Now you should see some XML data containing info of your unread emails. Please send this XML to ilab at windowslive.com in email.

Then, it should turn out what is happening.

Checking gmail error Empty Re: Checking gmail error

I think I've resolved the problem.

My habit is to use Firefox as a browser. It would seem that my wife used my PC and logged into her own gmail account using Internet Explorer as a browser. (Apparently, she doesn't understand the meaning of the phrase "*personal* computer"). I think the gadget was checking her account, rather than mine. I've used IE to log out of her account and log back in to mine, and now the gadget is WAD.

Thanks for your assistance.
