First of all, thanks a lot for the new version! Great job!

However, the scrolling in the new version is horribly slow, compared to the last version. Also the menu fade-in animation is too slow, taking well over a second, and not smooth at all, as it fades in in about 5 opacity steps. The menu buttons also appear only after the fade in animation is complete, forcing me to wait over a second before I can click anything.
Now I'm on a quad-core machine, so this being a performance issue is out of the question.

Suggestions:
- menu buttons should appear right away, even as the background fades in, so you can click them right away. Eye-candy is nice but shouldn't get in the way of usability
- make the menu fading smoother and possibly introduce an option for altering its speed
- introduce an option for altering the scrolling speed

Cheers!

Hmm.

That's pretty strange. It is supposed to be working like you can see on this video: whoo

Actually, it does anywhere I can check it (Vista 32bit IE8.0.6001 on 2 years old dual core, Win7 32bit IE8.0.7600 on 3 years old dual core, Win7 32bit on VirtualBox emulator).

What version of OS and Internet Explorer are you using?

Any special (okay, not default) settings at OS or IE level?

Could you try with switched off virus scanner? This is always my bonus tip Smile

Windows 7 32bit, IE 8.0.7600

Tried turning off AVG, but it didn't change anything.

Would it help to say that I set the gadget size to 200×1040? But like I said, the old version scrolls much faster.

Changing the size to 200x1040 doesn't change anything for me, still fast.

Btw, why? Is it fast(er) if you set it to 150x200 or something like that size?

Yeah, it's faster when I change it to 150×200.

Also, I have some 100 tasks in the gadget.

Okay, I was able to reproduce it on Windows 7, the gadget size matters.

Interesting, that on Vista, it is still fast if I set the size to even 300x2000. So, it seems to be some kind of a Windows 7 gadget issue.

Anyway, as a fix, please go to c:\Users\[yourosuser]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets\IForgotTheMilk.gadget\img and replace some images with the ones you find here. Then restart gadgets by switching off and on the setting at right click on desktop / view / show gadgets (or something similar, unfortunately, I can see the menu localized here, which wouldn't make too much sense for you). This should make things much faster.

Yeah, that's much better. Thanks!

I'd still appreciate having the option of scrolling and opening the menu faster though Razz
