check gmail broken?

the app checks very often for new mail,

however, even if there's no new mail but some unread emails , it still shows "new mail notification" icon.

best way would be to check "rss feed" included on gmail account instead of just testing if unread email > 0.

The gadget actually checks the rss feed /feed/modified value and new mail notification is shown exactly when that value changes, so I think it should work fine (except that it will notify after you read a mail and still have some). Anyway, I will find out something smarter.

the issue i'm facing is that the gmail icon appears after i've read any new mail.

the icon appears saying i get a new mail, i click it to read the new mail, gmail marks it read (or deleted it). Then a few seconds later the icon reappears but there are no new mail (some unread yes).

so i have to click 2 times whenever there's new mail, once before and once after reading it. which opens the browser window both times.

its like there's some checking for new mail or "number of unread mail > 0" which makes the icon appear both times.

BTW, if you click on the gray area and not on the email icon, then the browser won't be started.

So, this occurs when you have more than 20 unread emails, and caused by the 20 items limit of the GMail feed, which was not taken into account by the gadget.

This will be fixed in v1.2.2 but not in v1.2.1, which has been sent to windows live and will be available soon.
