settings.ini is stored there, not to mention other files. the question is why use a temp folder for settings or are they saved elsewhere too ?

Settings are mainly stored in the standard Windows Sidebar settings store. Settings.ini was introduced only for a feature request so that the user doesn't have to fill in all the settings in case of a version upgrade - as then the settings are destroyed in the Sidebar settings store.

However, it makes sense not storing some of those files in Temp dir.
