403 Forbidden Error
Have been using Googler 1.2.4 on Win7 x64 for years and it has been working like a charm until earlier today when no calendar event or new email can be fetched with the 403 Forbidden error. Nor can I refresh the calendar lists. Only login works, but after that basically nothing can be done. All Google services are fully functional on any web browsers so probably it is not a network problem. Has Google just changed its API?
Don't know whether this little gadget is still supported but just do not want to see it go...

Re: 403 Forbidden Error
Yes, Google has changed Calendar API and made unavailable the version the gadget currently uses
I will check whether I can use the new API version, which I am not sure because its authentication method might not work from sidebar gadgets.
Well, we will see.

I am having exactly the same issue.
Google has a history of changing their APIs so that long term calendar access is restricted. They also disabled their own calendar sync software which used to allow Google calendar to sync with Outlook. Heck, even if we had to pay....
Update: "This API is a subject to the Deprecation Policy and will be shutdown on November 17, 2014. Please use APIv3 instead." See the google-apps/calendar/v2/developers_guide

I'm bummed
I really hope you can find a fix. I use your Google Calendar every day and miss it already. Please let me know if you find a fix. I need my reminders in my face! Would be happy to pay for it.

Thanks for replying & delighted to see that the gadget is still being supported!
Even Google's own Calendar Checker Chrome extension has stopped working (though that has not been updated for more than one year), so they are really shutting down the deprecated old APIs as announced.
Will wait and see if this can be overcome. ^_^

A sad day in calendar land :(
Just chiming in with my hope that this is repairable. Setting "notify" on this thread and fingers crossed that a "FIXED!!" message appears in the thread soon.

Re: 403 Forbidden Error
hope you can get it fixed as well, I really miss it up to date on my desktop!
There is nothing like it still today!
interestingly on the day before the old API version expired, Google pushed out new versions of the Calendar app for all mobile device OS's, pretty last minute!
They look like they have just had new design touches and icons but I guess also on the new api.

God Speed in finding a solution. Looking forward to v1.2.5 - and more than willing to financially support the new v2.0 if needed.

another vote to please fix!
As a user of WebOS devices, the same issue came out... and someone wonderful has been able to create a fix
Maybe this/they might assist?
I love this gadget and would hate to no longer have it... At some point I remember that it had stopped working and I found something similar at some point, but after a few days I returned to this one (which thankfully was working again!) as the other one didn't even compare.
As I just created my account to post this, I can't post a link... (derp), but do a search for
C+ Dav Synergy Connector
and you'll get the page with the info and contact.

Me 4 all the rest of us.
This gadget is the sole reason I use the sidebar at all. As someone mentioned above: I'd easily pay for it.

...Please Fix It
Hello to Everyone,
i have the same Problem with this great App.
In Thunderbird / Lightbox / Provider for Google Calendar / was a similar Problem, but they fix it. Perhaps it is Possible that the Adjustments in the app Provider for Google Calendar cut be an Inspiration to to find a Solution?
(I can not Post an external Link, but her it is (addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/) It must be manually Copied)
And by that way, you can offer a new Version of Googler, so we can buy this und Support your good Work.
Have a great Day.

https://itunes.apple.com/app/tasks/id432736808

Re: 403 Forbidden Error
Hey,
I have made some progress implementing the new API.
Sorry for not being too fast but it is really hard to find the time
Anyway, the good news is that it will work in the end...
