The new version of Googler to fix the bug seems to be work quiet nice. I'm using Windows 8 Pro with a program that re-enables the gadgets from Vista and Windows 7. Thank youDon

Great thanks to the gadget author for the fix! And also thank Don for providing this alternative on Windows 8 - many people must have been missing their favorite gadgets for so long :-)
